CV
Daria Fedorchenko (1987), also known as Anima Lab, was born in Moscow in a family of cello professors. She started playing the piano at three years old under the supervision of Victor Afanassiev.
After moving to Spain in 1992, she played her first piano Concerto with orchestra in the Theater Filarmónica of Oviedo, where she later started her first bachelor degree at the age of 15 in the Conservatory Eduardo Martínez Torner.
During this time, she attended masterclasses with pianists such as Irina Zaritskaya, Victor Derevianko, Tatiana Zelykman and Galina Egyazarova.
The latter became her tutor for several years. Her lessons opened a new dimension of pianism and music understanding, reaching beyond technique into a more philosophical and aesthetical approach.
In 2009, Daria moved to the Netherlands to continue with her musical activities and education. She joined the class of Michail Markov after attending the International Competition for Young Musicians in Enschede, with whom she stayed perfecting her instrument and diving into Lied and Art Song repertoire by the guidance of Marien van Nieuwekerken.
It is here, during her studies in ArtEz University of the Arts where Daria expands her expertise, interacting with other art disciplines and cultivating her interest and fascination for performance and conceptual art.
While finishing her thesis(MA Classical Music Performance ) on Trauma in Musicians, she took a sabbatical to explore a holistic approach on music practice, which led her to integrate ceremonial and magical practices in her concert activities.
Daria Fedorchenko has participated and won several awards in music competitions such as “Concurso Nacional de Piano Manuel del Aguila”, “International Piano Competition Campillos”, “International Piano Competition Ibiza”,“Certámen de Cabaret Teatro Lata de Zinc”,etc.
Daria has played in national and international venues such as Dvorana Vsmu (Bratislava), Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi (Cremona), Auditorio Palacio de Congresos (Oviedo), Sint MichalesKerk (Zwolle),Schouwburg Deventer and ArkeZaal Enschede.
As a collaborator she has formed a lied duos with several singers such as Irene Hoogveld, Dagmara Siuty, Laurent Nadal and Artur Akaev and as well took part of more adventurous projects such as a Drag Show “Miss Taken” with visual artist and performer Mark Schulte.
Currently, Daria is focused in her ritualistic and ceremonial interdisciplinary practice with her own label Anima Lab, as well as in her piano solo activities.
